A pattern we see often in passenger complaints

Ryanair not responding to your claim
what to do step by step

If you filed a claim with Ryanair and got no reply, or a rejection with no real explanation, you're not alone. This is a pattern we've seen documented repeatedly. Before you waste more time writing to them again, enter your flight below: in seconds you'll know if you're owed compensation and how much, at no cost to find out.

Tactic 1: you get redirected to the regulator as soon as you claim

We documented that Ryanair actively sends passengers to the regulator, knowing the process can take months and that many passengers give up before reaching the end. Being sent to the regulator isn't illegal or unusual, but it is a way to buy time. If this happens to you, the key is not to give up along the way: the regulator's process is usually free, and if you're entitled to compensation, you still are, no matter how long it takes.

Tactic 2: you win with the regulator, but still don't get paid

This is the most serious thing we documented: a case where the regulator ruled in the passenger's favor, and Ryanair still hadn't paid months later. In some countries, a regulator's ruling is binding on the airline. But binding doesn't always mean automatic. If you won with the regulator and still haven't been paid, that failure to comply can be escalated further.

Tactic 3: being told it's a "point to point" flight so the connection isn't covered

In a recent case from a consumer body's public complaints register (December 2025), a passenger with a missed connection filed for compensation, and Ryanair only processed a refund for that leg, citing its "point to point" flight model, without ever responding to the compensation claim under Regulation 261/2004. Selling legs as separate flights doesn't remove your right to compensation if you missed the connection for a reason attributable to the airline.

What you're owed by law

€250 (short flights), €400 (medium flights) or €600 (long flights), depending on distance, under Article 7 of Regulation (EC) 261/2004. This doesn't change no matter how hard the airline makes it for you.
